Missions & Evangelism

"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Missions & Evangelism...happen when we join together to tell the GOOD NEWS and expand the visible manifestation of God's rule on earth.  West Point's mission is to "Disciple the Church to Impact the World."  The Missions & Evanvelism Ministry are designed to impact the world around us by engaging our members in hands-on, relational discipleship experiences locally and abroad. Regardless of age, talent, or resources, you can make a difference in reaching the lost with the GOOD NEWS through at least one of these four ways:  Pray, Give, Go, Serve.

Jesus says in John 6:44, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him."  Prayer is the starting point of missions and outreach.  We need to pray for the lost, and more specially that God would draw them to himself.  Moreover, Jesus says again in Luke 10:2, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.  Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."  We need West Point to Pray!

Prayer:  "Lord of the harvest please send out laborers" from West Point.

We should give for several reasons:  Missions giving churches care about the spiritual and physical needs of others; missions giving people find their contentment in the Lord; missions giving churches remain connected to the cause of Christ; and, missions giving churches long to see God glorified.  Click here!

There is always a need for people to go.  We are told in 1 Chronicles 16:24 to, "Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!"  You can use your gifts, skills, and abilities to make known the glory of God around the globe, this will bring honor and glory to God.  "Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations..." Matthew 28:19.

We have many opportunities for our members to serve the people of Hattiesburg.  Mark 10:45, "For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."  Here are the different Missions & Outreach Ministries we have here at West Point:
